Attacks On The Twin Towers, The Attack On The Pentagon, The War In Iraq, The Nuclear Weapons Testing Of North Korea These Have Posted Or Are Posing Threats To Global Security. In A World That Is Showing Such Hatred To Each Other, How Comfortable Can We Be When Every Which Way We Look, Our Lives Are Being Threatened?Global Security Has Been Defined As The Measures Ensuring Safety And Survival Taken By Nations And Organizations Like The United Nations. These Measures Range From Diplomatic Agreements To Military Action. Global Security However, Does Not Only Limit Itself To The Protection Of A State From War But Also Extends To The Security Of Individuals Within That State.UN Global Security Came After The Cold War Between The Then Two Super Powers Of The United States And The Soviet Union. It Became Apparent That The Security Of Individuals Within The State Is In As Great Dangers Due To Internal Affairs Of The State As That Of International Aggressors.Wars That Are Fought For The Integrity Of A State Leave Behind Individuals That Struggle Through Poverty, Famine, Disease, Landmines, Violence And Human Rights Abuse Once The Wars Are Over. Who Is There To Fight For The Integrity Of The Individual? Global Security Also Focuses On This Plea With The UN Forming Several Departments With Goals To Help Alleviate The After-effects Of Wars. However, Global Security Isnt Necessarily Effective.Case In Point: North Korea. Despite Being Part Of The United Nations And The UNs Diplomatic Call To Halt All Weapons Production And Testing, North Korea Is Posing Itself As A Newly Emerging Super Power That Threatens Its Enemies And Enemies Allies. The Security Of North Koreas State Seems To Be Protected For External Aggressors But The Security Of North Koreas Individuals Is Most Certainly Not. While The Nuclear Weapons Production And Testing Flourishes, North Koreas Economy Keeps Going Down And Can Barely Keep Up With The Demands Of Its Countrymen. Famine And Poverty Are Tearing Through North Korea And Nothing Effective Has Been Done.With Everything Thats Going On In The Middle East And North Korea, Global Security Should Come As A Necessity To Prevent An All-out War. What Is Left To Be Done Then To Keep Global Security Intact? War Should Be Avoided At All Cost. What Can Be Done To Prevent The Outbreak Of Poverty And Famine Should A War Begin? With Global Security And People Seeking Peace, Terrorism Can Be Overcome.
