After A Thorough Ocular In Other Regions, The Troop Decided That Crystal Mountain Is The Most Reliable. A Proposal Was Then Presented To The Forest Service In 1955 And After Three Years Of Processing, The Dream Was Already A Reality.The Initial Funding For The Crystal Mountain Winter Sports Arena Was Raised By Selling The Stocks To About 200 People. By 1962, It Was Fully Operating For Business. Its Popularity Over All The United States Was In 1965 When It Was The Venue For The National Alpine Championships. The Said Event Drew Legendary Ski Athletes From North America And Europe Such As Billy Kidd, Jean Claude Killy And Kimmie Heuga. By 1988, It Was The First In The State Of Washington To Have Been Installed A High- Speed Rainier Express That Was Also A Detachable Quad. In The Succeeding Years, It Poorly Snowed So They Experienced A Period Where They Were Not Anymore Capable Of Financing New Capital Improvements. By March Of 1997, Crystal Mountain Was Purchased By Boyne USA. It Is A Family- Owned Corporation That Had Been Eyeing To Acquire It For More Than Ten Years. When The Legal Rights Were Officially Transferred To Their Name, They Made A Commitment To Build A Significant Investment. They Spent More Than 15 Million According To The Terms Of Sale. Under The Management Of John Kircher, Related By Blood To The Firm, Two New Six Passenger Chairlifts Were Added. There Are Also A 12, 500 Square Foot Restaurant In The Middle Of The Mountain, Renovated Rental Shop, High- Speed Quad, Five Grooming Machines And Many More. By Summer Of 2006, There Will Be The Implementation Of Additional Services, New Lodging Houses, Maintenance Of Facilities, Six Additional Chairlifts, New Lodging Houses And On- Mountain Bistro.
