My 3-year Old Has A Large Rubber Duck That She Seems To Think Needs To Be Taken Everywhere We Go Now. It Is A Normal Rubber Duck, Bright Yellow With A Red Bill, So It Isn't Anything Out Of The Ordinary. She Sleeps With It At Night And Takes It To Preschool With Her. The Rubber Duck Eats At The Dinner Table With Us Every Evening And Of Course, Accompanies Her To The Bathtub As Well. I Must Say, This Is One Spoiled Rotten Rubber Duck. It Has Been Well Worth Its Money Though. I Know That He Only Cost 2.99 And Has Provided Hours And Hours Of Entertainment And Friendship. This Isn't Her First Rubber Duck. It Is, However, The First Rubber Duck She Has Ever Attached Herself To In Such An Interesting Manner. She Makes The Rubber Duck Talk Or Asks Me To Pretend To Make Him Talk. It Was Cute In The Beginning, But It Is Starting To Get A Little Bit Old. When I Tuck Her Into Bed At Night, She Insists On Me Tucking The Rubber Duck In As Well. She Will Scream If The Blankets Come Off Of Him. Last Weekend, We Were Rushing Out Of The Door For A Family Dinner. Everything Was Organized And Placed By The Door So That We Could Grab It As We Dashed Out The Door. In All Of The Madness, My Daughter Forgot To Grab Her Rubber Duck. Well, About Two Blocks From Our House, She Noticed This. She Let Us Know That He Had Been Forgotten Immediately By Screaming In Horror. I Glanced At My Watch And Noticed That We Were Already 10 Minutes Behind Schedule. My Husband Turned The Car Around And Zoomed Back. I Jumped Out Of The Car And Ran Inside Making A Mad Search For The Spoiled Rubber Duck. He Was Sitting On The Kitchen Table Waiting For Someone To Notice That He Had Been Left Behind. I Scooped Him Up And Handed Him To My Tearful Toddler Who Just Couldn't Imagine Spending A Moment Without That Darned Rubber Duck. I Hear Parents All Of The Time Talking About Their Child's Addiction To A Blankie Or A Doll, Something That Is Somewhat Normal. I, Of Course, Cannot Say Something So Normal. My Daughter Has Chosen To Make A Rubber Duck Her Best Friend And Wants To Spend Every Moment With Him. I Suppose It Could Be Worse. It Gives All New Meaning To The Phrase "lucky Duck". Our Rubber Duck Certainly Is One Spoiled And Lucky Duck.
